Is Your Back One Step Away from a Blowout?

What a Flat Tire Taught Me About Back Pain
Spoiler alert: It wasn't just the bone shard. It was pressure. And the same goes for your back.

Last summer, I got a flat tire.
I was only 10 minutes from home when the low tire pressure light blinked on. No big deal, right? I knew there was a Hogan Tire nearby with free air, so I cautiously white-knuckled my way there.
But when I got out of the car, I slow-blinked a few times.
The tire wasn’t just low.
It was F-L-A-T.
As in: collapsing-under-the-weight-of-the-car flat.
I hadn’t hit anything. I didn’t feel a thing. And yet, here we were.
The Flat Tire = Your Back Blow Out
This is exactly what happens when your back “goes out.”It feels sudden. Shocking. Totally uncalled for.
But what if it wasn’t sudden at all?
What if you’ve been leaking pressure this whole time, in such small, subtle ways you didn’t notice?
Maybe the first signs weren’t back pain at all. Maybe it was stiffness, tension, or a little twinge when you bent over. Maybe your “alignment felt off,” but you chalked it up to sleeping weird or a long car ride.
Until boom. The flat tire moment.
Your back locks up. Your muscles spasm. And you’re left wondering what just happened.
What Actually Causes a Back Spasm?
Sometimes, back pain builds up quietly.
Your body compensates and adapts until it can’t. That’s when the pain shows up. Not because of the thing you just did, but because of the accumulated compensation and poor mechanics leading up to it.
Muscles try to stabilize what your alignment has stopped supporting. Eventually, they hit their max capacity and shout, “Enough!”
You feel the spasm, but the problem started way before.
✅ Try This Before the Next Back Blow Out
Next time you feel a twinge or tightness in your back, run through this Spine Alignment Checklist:
Neck long
Chin tucked (not jutting forward)
Shoulders open
Ribs stacked over hips
Pelvis level (no tucking or tilting your tail)
This simple check-in helps restore your spine’s natural curves and reduces unnecessary muscular tension.
💡 Small Bite, Big Win: When your spine is stacked well, your muscles don’t have to work overtime to hold you upright. That means less tension, fewer spasms, and stronger core support through your internal pressure system.
So... What Actually Caused My Tire to Explode?
I filled the tire with air only to watch it pancake again in five minutes.
Back home, I called AAA.
Turns out, a shard of bone (I'm still curious to this day) had punctured a massive hole.
The AAA guy said, “I’ve never seen anything like that.”
So yeah: queasy pride moment unlocked.
I could’ve wrestled with the tire myself. But sometimes, it’s smart to let an expert handle it.
Same goes for your back.
If You’ve Been Living with Tension, Spasms, or Slow-Leak Pain…
You don’t need another temporary patch.
You need a system that restores pressure, improves posture, and rebuilds trust in your body.
I help my clients:
Restore internal pressure systems with better breathing (in 2 sessions)
Move with confidence and control (by session 4)
Live and ride pain-free (in 6 sessions)
Let’s make sure your next back spasm isn’t just “waiting to happen.”
It’s about getting back your power before the next blowout.
